Moving on up…
19 06 2009Congratulations to Chris and Nyesha who just graduated from the Gary Manuel training program! Now are both providing fantastic services to their guests at the main Gary Manuel salon.
Nyesha loves doing ethnic hair (and is great at it…just read Citysearch) and Chris is great at curly hair (he also gives a mean hand massage).
Good work and looking forward to see what is next!!

Happy Earth Day!
22 04 2009Thanks to the nearly 50 people at Gary Manuel Salon, Gary Manuel Aveda Institute and Puget Soundkeeper Alliance who cleaned the streets of Belltown and Capitol Hill this morning. For the second year in a row, they have pitched in to make Seattle cleaner and keep garbage out of Puget Sound.

This year, we are looking to raise $45,000 for Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, a Seattle-based organization that ensures companies and cities are following the Clean Water Act. Last year Gary Manuel Salon’s $45,000 in contributions covered more than half of their annual administrative costs.

Gary Manuel team helps with Seattle Fashion Week
5 03 2009Last week a team of Future Professionals and stylists from Phase 3 and Gary Manuel did the hair & makeup for the models at Seattle Fashion Week’s first event – a “Project Runway” style competition for young fashion designers. The prize – a chance to show their collection at Seattle Fashion Week in April. Heather Dobson, a stylist from GMS who is also on our Creative Team, was a guest judge.

Seattle Magazine features Jeff & Parker
22 01 2009Seattle Magazine’s February “Best of Beauty” Issue features two Gary Manuel stylists – Jeff who is in Phase 3 and Parker who recently graduated onto the main Gary Manuel floor.
The article was on rising the city’s top affordable stylists. Three of the five stylists mentioned are GMAI graduates, including Jeff and Parker.
Jeff’s haircuts are $35 (Tue – Sat) and Parker’s are $50 (also Tues – Sat).

Congratulations Natalia!
15 01 2009Natalia graduates from the Phase 3 training program this week. She loves to do classic haircuts, men’s haircuts, natural soft highlights and is also a certified makeup artist (and amazing at it too!)
Natalia will be available for services in the main Gary Manuel Salon beginning late this week.
